With the chill in the air and the weather reports mentioning frost, it’s time to get ready for the first holiday of the season – Thanksgiving. There is nothing more beautiful than the fall leaves and a perfectly decorated home. With the smell of spices and apples, we are inspired to bring the glorious golds and yellow of the season to our Thanksgiving decorations and our family table. This season is about bringing family home, bringing friends together and celebrating all we have to be thankful for.

This place setting incorporates fall leaves and berries with a tan linen napkin. We love using an off-white place setting because it is so much warmer than stark white and that is what this season is all about. The fleur-de-lis on the plates adds a bit of texture while the leaves and berries on the napkin adds the warm colors of fall.
While the traditional autumn fruit is an apple or berry, when set on this gold charger with candles of differing heights, the pears look very festive. The design here uses different colors of pears and warm yellow plates along with deep yellow candles to bring the colors of autumn to the table. We love the height difference for the candles as a way to bring a low profile centerpiece which still has some variation of height.
These white and orange candles look terrific with these paper leaves and acorn ornaments. The acorns are actually ornaments with stylish glittery tops. At Inspired Home+Life we prefer to bring natural elements into the home and on the table, but this design stood out because we love the texture of the leaves when contrasted with the sleek smooth candles. The great thing about this idea is that it can be stored and used year after year to decorate for Thanksgiving.
This centerpiece is so festive with the green and orange gourds plus a small votive candle with gold glitter. You can easily DIY those votive candle holders buy purchasing the votives with peach or yellow candle. Use a fixative spray to coat the outside then just roll through your choice of glitter or beads. You can even stripe the glitter by using blue painters tape on the parts you’d like to prevent from gluing. You can use real flowers or cloths ones to complete the look.
One small pumpkin in the center of each plate is a simple festive idea which brightens any fall table. You can use a small pumpkin or a gourd as a name tag for a place setting as well. Print name labels and paste onto card stock then use a small knife to cut a horizontal slit in the top of the gourd. Slide in the name tag for a cute name holder.
Real flowers, green apples and small orange pumpkins laying on a bed of raffia adds sophistication to any table. Add small multicolored votive candles to increase the enchanting effects. We love the use of flowers which haven’t opened all the way yet to bring a bit of green to the table. It’s very stylish to prop the pumpkins or gourds on each other to create a little pile.

This pumpkin was carved out and used as a vase for a fresh flower arrangement. You can purchase a flower arranging product called a floral foam and cut it to fit in the pumpkin. Add water and your arrangement will stay fresh for a few days. We love the placement of the red berries along with the orange and green Chinese Lantern Flowers.
Use a long wicker basket to fill with pumpkins, gourds, berries and pine cones to create a lovely table runner. This design includes an off white table runner and additional placement of pine cones and acorns scattered along the runnner. This white brick fireplace is decorated with leaves and votive candles on the mantel. We think the silver metal vase with tall sunflowers is a great addition to the hearth and the candles in the tall candle holders on the hearth make a very inviting and festive scene. We think this would be the perfect spot for nightcap after a great Thanksgiving meal.
The pine cone and apple wreath accents the front door beautifully. You can buy a wreath form at your local craft store and use hot glue to design the wreath of your preference. We love the pine cones along with the apples and berries. It’s so festive!
This elegant table setting highlights the greens of the season. We love the napkin ring with acorns and leaves, plus the glass pumpkin and pine cones as a centerpiece. The unique crinkled wine glass with a yellowish hue adds a sophisticated hue to the table.
